Textile surgeries 3: Beep sounds

Some holes on C's favorite jumper.
C's a musician and great music magazine 'Wire Magazine' writer. We talked the jumper remind us of Kraftwerk's songs and its rhythms so I darned and stitched for matching the distinctive pattern which associate beep sounds. A yellow yarn from my old jumper from A.P.C in 90's and light blue one from a yarn shop in Scotland.

ミュージシャンでもあり音楽雑誌「Wire」のライターでもあるCのセーター。
穴がいくつかあるとのことで修繕してみました。
このパターンがなんだかクラフトワークのリズムっぽいねと話したし、せっかくリズミカルな模様だから
それを生かして刺繍のように直してみました。
黄色の糸はすごく初期のA.P.Cのカーディガンをほどいたもの。
水色の糸はエジンバラで。

Hidden treasures 2

As I said that before, my wired hobby that I am hooked secretly is observing cardboard. There's so many chance to get many nice packages of sweets or foods etc from all around the world but it's bit difficult to see a delivery cardboard boxes from suppliers unless if you work in the food shopｓ.

On the top one is dutch, I like simple visual information.
The other one, a box from Shipton , which produce organic flour, it pretty seek looking, and lovely typography.

以前も言ったお話した様に、業務用の箱をこっそり観察するのが大好きです。
世界各国の素敵なパッケージを見つけるのはそれほど難しくないけれど、業務用の段ボール箱を手にいれられるのはオーガニックフードのお店で働いている利点のひとつです。

上はオランダから、絵で商品の情報が伝えられているところが好きです。
そしてもうひとつ、オーガニックの小麦粉を製造する会社、Shiptonから。
タイポグラフィーがシックで素敵。

Beads on pegs

Intensive beading in the internship workshop today.
No more beading today and feel like to baking or something, moving physically.

インターン先で木製の洗濯ばさみにビーズで飾り付けをしました。
こう見ると、あら捜しができてしまうけど、まあいいか。
今日はもう作業はしたくないです。

Slowly but surely

My personal project 'Textile surgery' has going on at the moment.
1 I have got some holey jumpers from friends
2 think concepts or themes,
3 visual researching
4 find materials for mending from my material boxes at the same time making messing my room.
5 accidentally find something that I thought I lost.
6. completely forget what I have been doing.

Therefore the project takes such a long time to be done.

今夢中の修繕プロジェクトは現在進行中ですが
１　友達からダメージのある服を渡してもらう。
２　テーマを考える
３　リサーチ
４　材料を部屋のどこかから探すと同時に散らかす
５　なくしたと思ったものが見つかる
６　材料を探していたことを忘れる

というわけでプロジェクトには時間が必要なようです。

Blazers Badges and Boaters

A book that I found in a dusty shelf in a second hand book shop in Edinburgh.
It's all about history of school uniform in England and it's £4.
To be honest, It's hard to say that I was a good pupil in the school and no interest for the uniforms at all when I was kid. But I'm fascinated those beautiful designs on page on page.
There's no intention for trend or anything. just functional designs.


エジンバラの古本屋さんで埃をかぶっていたイギリスの制服の歴史についての本を見つけました。
学生のころは学校嫌いで、何度母を泣かせたことか分からない私ですが、
機能面をただ重視した学生服のデザインの数々、どれも美しいのには圧巻させられます。

It's bit difficult to see but there are silver dots in a toe.

分かりにくいけれどつま先の部分に銀の刺繍。
